Helen Rowlands -
I grew up in the Peak District of Derbyshire, then spent several years living and working in Africa before settling near Cardigan in the nineties.
Having worked with a variety of media I felt most comfortable when introduced to printmaking, feeling at home with the practical, hands-on, and sometimes unpredictable, process of producing plates and then prints.
I work mainly with relief prints, usually lino, but also experiment with other methods and materials such as monoprints, collagraphs, polystyrene and polymer clays.
My inspiration comes from the views around me. The lines, shapes and colours I come across on walks, be that in nature or man-made.
